What is Cosplay?
Cosplay, is a blend of the words "costume" and "play". It is an art form where participants dress up as characters from books, movies, anime, video games, and pop culture. Building cosplays is where my passion for creating really took off. Getting to be your favorite characters from your favorite media is really exciting!
What is Furry?
The furry fandom is a diverse subculture of cosplay, centered on an interest in anthropomorphic animals. That really is how simple it is. Anthropomorphic animals are creatures with human traits, like walking on two legs, talking, and expressing human emotions. If you're a fan of Mickey Mouse, then you're a fan of anthropomorphic characters, though members of the community most often channel this passion into making characters of their own, not necessarily pre-designated characters from media.
Furry is often misunderstood due to intolerant internet users, inflamitory fear-mongering politics, and untruthful anecdotes you've probably heard by word of mouth. Let me be very clear: Furries/Fursuiters are normal, everyday people. They come to the furry fandom for community, understanding, and creativity. It's an art form and a hobby, plain and simple.
